OUR OBJECTIVES
The objective of Padre Alfredo Children's Villages is to provide a community service for the problems of abandoned children. It has no political affiliations or profit making aims. This objective will be achieved using the following strategies:
Construction of children and juvenile residencies, schools and other buildings for educational purposes using the organization's resources or charitable donations. These buildings are integrated into the overall group know as "The Villages".
Provide a substitute family for the abandoned or orphaned child, so that they are raised with the affection and security necessary for normal and complete human development.
Utilize the four basic principles developed by Hermann Gmeiner:
Each group of 10 to 12 children are raised by a House or Family Mother, creating a family unit. The Family Mother is the head of the family and provides guidance to all the siblings. The atmosphere of the house provides a family environment and is designed by each Family Mother. Each Village is comprised of all the family houses and is overseen by a Director. |
||
Provide an educational community in the form of a great family to give the children a bridge to the outside world. The intention is to instill moral and spiritual beliefs while facilitating opportunities for professional training.
Create public awareness of the aims and objectives of The Villages using all available means of communication.
Develop plans and programs to recruit friends, partners and benefactors for The Villages. |
