OUR MISSION

The mission of the Padre Alfredo Children's Villages is to provide support for development of orphaned or abandoned children in a home and family atmosphere. In order to provide better future prospects, the Villages offer a secure, permanent and protected upbringing with appropriate education to enable employment and future self sufficiency. This vocational work is done in an open way to provide a fair, equal and prosperous society.
The following principles were developed by Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, the founder of children's villages all over the world. He believed that the primary goal in educating orphans was first and foremost their individual and social integration into society.

The following five principles summarize Dr. Gmeiner's approach to meeting the basic needs of orphaned or abandoned children:

  1. help them develop healthy self-esteem

  2. offer them social interaction and teach them responsibility

  3. strengthen their religious views on the world and humanity

  4. teach them independence

  5. encourage their individual talents and creativity
